Despite a growing defence industry and self-reliance ambitions, India’s bid to become a major arms exporter faces complex regulations and geopolitical challenges. Logistical issues, resistance from global powers, and tricky international ties limit access to markets like Azerbaijan, Africa, and South America. Addressing this needs streamlined processes, strong diplomacy, and strategic focus on niche areas.
India’s defence exports have soared to a record ₹23,622 crore in FY 2024-25, marking a 12.04% growth over the previous year. With strong contributions from both DPSUs and the private sector, India is rapidly emerging as a global defence manufacturing hub. Backed by government reforms and DRDO-led innovation, the nation aims to achieve ₹50,000 crore in exports by 2029.

"We discussed a wide range of issues which include defence and information sharing, aiming to further deepen the India-US partnership," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.
A fuselage is the main body section of the aircraft which holds the pilot, passengers and cargo, while the rear fuselage supports the tail section and its associated components.
“Whether it is an issue related to neurons, bone loss or mental problems, it is the responsibility of aerospace and space medicine to tackle these challenges. The field must prepare itself for bigger responsibilities in the future,” the Defence minister said.
Organised by the Directorate of Low Intensity Conflict (DLIC) under DRDO, the two-day conference aims to equip Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) officers with the latest advancements in technology to address challenges in their operations.
The committee has identified key thrust areas and made recommendations for implementation in the short, medium and long-term so as to achieve the desired capability enhancement goals of the lAF in an optimal manner.
"While the Government is committed to strengthening India's security apparatus and ensuring the welfare of its soldiers and their families, it is the nation's collective responsibility to come forward and support them in every way possible," Singh said.
