India’s first Nano Electronics Roadshow showcases next-gen chip design & semiconductor breakthroughs

BENGALURU: The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), in collaboration with IISc Bengaluru and leading IITs, inaugurated India’s first Nano Electronics Roadshow at IISc Bengaluru, on Thursday. S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, highlighted India’s rapid strides in semiconductor innovation, emphasizing a projected $100 billion market and 85,000 skilled workforce by 2030.

100+ Intellectual Properties (IPs) & 50+ Tech Innovations from premier institutions showcased.
35+ Deep-Tech Startups presented cutting-edge semiconductor solutions.
4 MoUs signed to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
India AI Mission & INUP initiatives accelerating semiconductor advancements.

Krishnan underlined that India’s semiconductor mission is a national priority, with the government driving large-scale investments. He called for a collective effort from academia, industry, and policymakers to ensure India’s global leadership in chip design and nanoelectronics.

The roadshow demonstrated how India’s Nano Centers are bridging research with real-world applications, driving homegrown semiconductor innovation and reinforcing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
