DigiYatra app users are 45.8 lakhs now; Chennai airport to be added by March 31
An IT initiative of the Ministry of Civil Aviation using biometric verification technology, Digi Yatra provides a seamless and hassle-free movement of passengers at airport entry gates.
DigiYatra application user base as on February 20, 2024:
Android: As on Jan 1, 2024 it was 17.3 lakhs, increased to 21.2 lakhs till Feb 10, 2024, a growth of around 22.5%; iOS Apple user base has registered a 19% growth at 24.6 lakhs from 20.7 lakhs during the period.
The DigiYatra was initially launched at three airports, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Varanasi in December 2022. Later, it was launched in 10 more airports.

DigiYatra is currently operational at airports of Delhi, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Vijayawada, Cochin, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Guwahati, and Jaipur. The system will be installed at Chennai airport by March 31, the minitry said.
